2. Naia OS Live USB

You can try Naia OS right away — just plug in a USB drive and power on your PC. No installation needed, and your existing system stays untouched.

What You Need

  • A USB drive (8 GB+) with Naia OS written to it
  • Any PC made within the last 10 years

Don't have a USB ready? See 3.1. Naia OS Installation (ISO) for how to create one.

How to Use

  1. Plug the Naia OS USB into your PC.
  2. Power on (or restart) and enter the boot menu (press F12, F2, or Del repeatedly right after powering on).
  3. Select the USB drive as the boot device.
  4. Naia OS will start automatically.

What You'll See

Choose your AI provider and start chatting with Naia right away. Explore the desktop and try out all the features — it works exactly like a fully installed system.

Wi-Fi connection required. Local AI like Ollama cannot be installed in a live USB environment, so you'll need a cloud AI provider. Connect to Wi-Fi from the system tray at the bottom-right of the screen first.

Nothing is saved to your PC. When you remove the USB and reboot, your original system comes back exactly as it was. Feel free to experiment!

Note: In the live USB environment, all settings reset on reboot. Discord channel integration, skill configurations, and conversation history won't be saved. To use these features for real, install Naia OS on your PC.

Want to Keep It?

If you like the experience and want to install Naia OS permanently, see 3.1. Naia OS Installation (ISO). Once installed, you can also set up Ollama to have your own private AI that doesn't depend on any cloud service.

You can also install just the Naia app on your existing Linux — see 3.2. Linux App Installation.
